Our beehives are located at the base of the Swan Mountains on the east side of the Flathead Valley. Our name comes from the frequent alpenglow sunsets on the mountains that can be seen from the apiary. The definition of Alpenglow is an amber glow seen near sunset or sunrise on the summits of mountains.
After becoming interested in beekeeping, we took a couple of classes at the local college and purchased our first eight hives shortly thereafter. With a mild Montana climate (if such a thing exists!) and an abundance of nectar in our area, the size of our apiary has grown quickly.
We believe in keeping our bees local. Keeping our bees in the Flathead Valley helps ensure the health of our hives and the quality of our honey!
We are so excited to share our exciting endeavor with you and hope this website will give you more insight into the interesting lives of honeybees! Come back often for updates on our bees and product offerings!
